Sir,
I humbly solicit you that this proposal might be
taken into consideration as it is my wish to take my
family to the Cape of Good Hope upon the conditions
specified in this days Newspaper in Agricultural
Business having been used to it in Yorkshire also in
surveying & measuring land. Likewise in mining and
canal work. I have been upwards of 20 years in London,
4 years in His Majestys Regt of Life Guards and the
remainder in the Honble East India Companys
warehouses. My age is 45 years, my wifes age 48. The
children are as follows.
John 19
Elizabeth 16
Henry 13
Ambrose 12
Hannah 10
Sarah 8
Should my application meet with the gentlemens
approbation I shall be very much obliged.
