Hi Joan

Lucy Eleanor CLARKE is firstly the wife of Charles Edward CHOWLES the sister
of Lucy CHOWLES, and then secondly the wife of William Henry DEACON who was
first married to Lucy CHOWLES before he married her when they had both lost
their spouses. So she was not the daughter as I previously erroneously
mentioned. William was the brother-in-law of Charles and then married his
widow!

Hope this helps untangle the web. Unfortunately I don't have any dates, just
a guess of abt 1915, abt 1917 and you have provided 1919. Did a search of my
system for anymore DEACON folk, but only have what I posted in a separate
email. I tried searching NAAIRS for anyone with the name of Helen Lucy and
came up with 7 hits but they weren't the this lady. If she died after 1978
in the Transvaal then she won't be on NAAIRS. I will see if I can find her
in the Masters Office Index when next I visit the Archives.

Kind regards
Tessa
