School remembers by holding biathlon.
A very special memorial gathering was organised by Bluewater Bay Primary
to honour the school's caretaker, Godfrey ROSSLEE, who died of cancer on
16 Jan 2005.
In his memory, principal, Malcolm CUNNINGHAM turned the route Godfrey
used to travel to school every day into a strenuous biathlon course. He
attempted the memorial biathlon himself last Saturday cheered on by
teachers, learners and their parents who accompanied him along part of
the way.
The biathlon started with a swim across the Swartkops River mouth,
followed by an 8km run along Swartkops and Amsterdamhoek and back to the
school.
The aim of the memorial service run was to raise funds for the Cancer
Association.
Best wishes
Becky
