I actually have his first wife Mary Hannah GUSH's date of birth as 21 Nov 1821, courtesy of SAG. Her parents as Charles THomas CROFT and Mary HANCOCK. Her parents married in Jan 1821, so the date does fit.

I don't know the Christian name of Helen's previous spouse.
Hopefully somebody more knowledgeable researching the PALMER line will come
to your assistance.
