Dear Pat,

I don't have copies of the papers on hand, but I seem to recall that in
addition to the usual monetary payment the Cattle Rangers got a share of the
cattle. I am going away on business for the rest of the week, but will let
you know on my return. - Seems your Grandfather got something started after
all.

Just a snippet here Row...
My grandfather in a raid early in the war (for which he was severely
reprimanded) wrote several letters asking that his men be rewarded with some
of the looted cattle.!
This stuff of yours is just SO interesting.
