I hope they give Brian Havana the try...YESSSSSSSS
I'm so envious my cousin Ann's husband Vivian has met their eldest son Garet
in France to watch the Rugby...the son lives and works in Portland, Ohio and
of course Viv lives in Jo'burg...what a fine time they must be having!!
Best wishes,
Tombi

Am I grateful that I am the sole owner of all three of my remotes!!
I had a wonderful time watching the Rugby last night.....the night before I
was in a restaurant just next to where there was a large screen telly on
which the Rugby was being shown...although I didn't join the spectators I
took time over my meal so was able to listen to the match!!
My large flat-screen telly has the ability to split the screen and watch two
programmes at the same time!! My father would have been tortured...he loved
both Rugby and Cricket...he played Provincial Cricket, bless him!
Best wishes,
Tombi Peck

Joan and Lynette have really set the ball rolling and here I thought
everybody was engrossed with the Rugby World Cup... I don't even want to
mention the cricket that starts on Tuesday. Men and their remotes and
going to drive their misses crazy....

The gremlin called "Time" has also taken over my waking hours, and
besides working on business plans [my real job], Paxie has planted a
seed in our Family Tree suggesting that there might be a STEWARD /
STEWART / STUART tucked away amongst the twigs who just might be a major
arterial branch. Believe me when I tell you that this is worse than
looking for a HILL!

The story so far.....My great-grandmother has a Margaret JOST née STUART
as a witness at her wedding:
Frederick HENWICK, 20, Bachelor, Blacksmith, residing Kariega;
m. Grape Vale Kariega 2 Mar 1868 [Meth. Salem/Albany E. 329 1560874];
Isabella HILL, 17, Spinster, residing Kariega
Witnesses: Margaret JOST, Jacob JOST, Henry CLAPTON (or maybe CLAYTON)
Minister: John SMITH

Jacob JOST worked with my great-grandfather at Grape Vale. I presume
that this wedding also took place at Grape Vale. I don't have a copy of
the original wedding certificate.
Jacob JOST, Full, Bachelor, Agricultural Labourer, residing Grape Vale;
m. Grape Vale Kariega 30 Sep 1861 [Meth. Salem/Albany E. 269 1560874];
Margaret STUART, Minor, Spinster
Witnesses: Allan STEWART, Marinda GASTON (GASTORFF?)
Minister: H. H. DUGMORE

Having a look at what I've got so far, [mainly concentrating on Bathurst
and Grahamstown] I have:

Location Bathurst
Ernest Fred Ray STUART and Martha Bradfield TIMM
John STEWART and Janet Fowels ?
[John was a farmer at Barville Park Camp and might be the father of
Allan STEWART]

Location Grahamstown
Allan STEWART and Mary EARLES
Francis STUART and Mary Ann ?
Grace Harriet STEWART and Roston Percival Walter THOMAS
Robert Ferrior STEWART and Elizabeth MCDONALD

Any of these chaps in your Tree? Here are some more to set you
scrambling for hopeful leads......

Location Somerset East
Alexander STEWART and Elizabeth Augusta HART
Alexander STUART and Herriot E. ?
Arthur Dixie STUART and Alicia Dorothea HUGHES
Arthur STEWART and Lillian H. ?

Location Queenstown
George STEWART and Alice Lavene WIGGILL
Thomas STUART and Lydia ?

So after highlighting my dilemma, its back to those business plans and
boeremusiek to syke me up for the Bok game later today. If you have a
lead on STEWARD / STEWART / STUART and can expand, your input will be so
appreciated. Might just help to consolidate what I already have. And if
you looking for a lead, no matter where in RSA, please let me know - I
might just have what you are looking for.

Enjoy the rugby! Ons vir jou Suid Afrika groen en goud!
Please consider our Digest members and snip if replying - this is a long
email.

Best wishes
Becky
