The Durrheim family in South Africa is descended from the German settler,
Johann Durrheim (umlaut over the "u"), most probably settled in Berlin, then
British Kaffraria, later incoporated into the Cape Colony.
My interest arises from Sylvia Blanche Dickason b. Grahamstown 30.10.1893
who married Theodore Siegfried Durrheim b. 20.7.1891. Both are buried in
Rebecca St. Cemetery, Pretoria - respectively 1978 and 1952. Would like
more detail on Theodore if possible.
There are a number of sites on the internet that deal with the German
Settlers brought into British Kaffraria. Your best bet is to key into
Google.
