In St.George's Church Cape Town on Monday the 2nd October by the Rev George
Hough MA, Senior Colonial Chaplain:
A daughter of Capt. Thomas COBERN, baptised Elizabeth Charlotte.
A daughter of Mr. Richard WILSON, baptised Hannah Sarah.
A son of Mr. Robert MUTTON, baptised Thomas William.
A son of Mr. James ELLIS, baptised James.
A son of Mr. Richard RYAN, baptised Richard.
A daughter of John William Henry DIETZ, baptised Christina Catharina

DEATH
Sept 29th 1837: Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth BANKS, wife of Mr. Richard BANKS,
aged 20 years.

MARRIED at George Town on Tuesday 19th September, by the Rev J.S.S.Ballot,
Mr. W.B. BIDDULPH to Miss Sophia SMITH.

DIED on Friday the 29th September, at 11 o'clock at night, aged 77 years and
3 months, our beloved Mother Mrs. Anna Catharina HECKROODT, last widow of
Mr. Peter HENKES, of which notice is hereby given to Friends and Relatives.

A son of the late Alexander Octavius SAUNDERS Esq, Deputy Assistant
Commissary General, Mauritius, baptised Alexander William Fleck.

EDICT
The Paternal and Maternal Relations of Christoffel Andries; Elizabeth
Johanna; Stephanus Petrus; Susanna Carolina; and Johanna Lodowica Maria
Catharina SCHOEMAN, Minor Children of Johannes Lodewyk SCHOEMAN, deceased,
and surviving Spouse Elizabeth Johanna NAUDE, of the Somerset District, are
required to take notice that a Meeting of the Paternal and Maternal
Relations of the said Minors will be held before the Resident Magistrate,
at his Office, Somerset, on Friday the 17th November next, at 11 o'clock in
the forenoon precisely; and all such persons as aforesaid are hereby
required to attend at the place and time aforesaid; then and there to see
such Person or Persons selected by such Magistrate, for approval by the
Master of the Supreme Court, as fit and proper to be by the said Master
appointed Tutor or Tutors Dative of the aforesaid Minors.

SMALL, deceased, and surviving Spouse Rosa Anna McMANUS, re-married to
Thomas PRITCHARD, are required to take notice that a Meeting of the Paternal
and Maternal Relations of the said Minor will be held before the Master of
the Supreme Court in the Grand Jury Room, at the Public Buildings, Cape Town
on Tuesday the 14th November next, at 10 o'clock in the forenoon precisely;
and all such persons as aforesaid are hereby required to attend at the place
and time aforesaid; then and there to see Letters of Confirmation granted to
such Person or Persons as shall then be appointed by the said Master to be
Tutor of Tutors Dative of the said Minor.

The Next of Kin and Creditors of Margaretha TICHY, formerly of Cape Town,
deceased, are required to take notice that in consequence of the death of
George Ferdinand GEYER and Petrus Johannes LE ROES, Testamentary Executors
of the said Margaretha TICHY, a Meeting of the Next of Kin and Creditors of
the Deceased, and all others whom these presents may concern, will be held
before the Master of the Supreme Court in the Grand Jury Room, at the Public
Buildings, Cape Town on Tuesday the 21st November next, at 10 o'clock in the
forenoon precisely; and all such persons as aforesaid are hereby required to
attend at the place and time aforesaid; then and there to see Letters of
Administration granted to such Person or Persons as shall then be appointed
by the said Master to be Executor or Executors Dative to the Estate of such
deceased Person as aforesaid, in the place and stead of the Testamentary
Executors above-named..

Portugal, to Marie Eveline, daughter of Major C.C. MICHELL, K.H. Surveyor
General of the Colony.

MARRIED by Special Licence in St.George's Church, on the 25th inst by the
Rev George Hough, Sylvester Douglas BIRCH Esq of the Madras Civil Service to
Isabella Jane, eldest daughter of John MURRAY MD, Deputy Inspector General
of Hospitals.

DIED at Uitenhage Town, Friday 7th October 1837, Alexander MATHEWSON Esq,
Half-pay of the late Royal African Corps, and late of He Majesty's 54th
Regiment of Foot, aged 45 years, leaving a widow and six young children to
deplore his loss.
