Australia has always had terrible bush fires at this time of the year. A
terrible drought plus very high temperatures, lightening stikes and the ever
present 'human' firebug are the cause. Whole towns have been burnt down/out
and at the last count 66 people have died, many found in their cars trying
to escape the flames - this time Victoria has been hit more tragically than
ever before in the past and the whole of Australaia is in shock.
I live in South East Queensland where there is neither fire nor flood and
find it very hard to believe there is so much devastation in the north and
south of this our beloved country.
