Hi all,

I wonder if anyone has information on any Delport ancestors who resided in East London circa 1897. My great-grandmother was Maria Catharina Susanna Delport, born on 24 Aug 1897 in East London. Her father was Marthinus Delport but I have not yet managed to uncover who her mother was nor the names and details of any of her siblings. She seemingly married Robert Ellis in East London, date unknown, but likely before 1918.

They had the following children:

· Isabella Elizabeth (Lavery) - 1918

· Magdalena Maria (Stevens) <-- My wonderful gran - 1921

· Maria Cathrina (Stevens) - 1922

· Robert Martin

· Martin Lucas Petrus

· John Peter

Robert Ellis and Maria Cathrina Susanna Delport would have moved to Durban as this is where I've known my dad's family to live.

Robert Ellis was born circa 1890 in the Cape Provine, his father being Robert Ellis and his mother Magdalene. More than this I have none.

Any shreds of information will be HUGELY appreciated!
