Hi Jenn,
The PAINTER/CHEMINAIS connection arose as follows:
Richard Joseph PAINTER who married Mary KIRKMAN had a previous marriage to
Martha URRY (1810-1836).
Martha died relatively young after producing two children, the eldest being:
Edwin Joseph PAINTER (1834-1911) who married firstly Emily Martha PEDLAR
(1850-1887). Their fourth child was:
Meredith Grace PAINTER (1878-1939) who married Albert Edward BEGBIE
(1876-1910). Their fourth daughter was:
Jessie Grace Mary BEGBIE (1902-1907) who married Albert CHEMINAIS (1902-??).
I have three children recorded, John Albert, Michael and Malcolm. Not sure
where your brother-in-law ties into the above picture. (Source: The
descendants of Samuel Richard Painter, 1820 Settler, by Margie Muller).
Regards - Peter
