Hi Debbie and Mike

I see that you have both mentioned people with the surname EASTES.

I have an EASTES who represents an impenetrable brick wall.

Dick (probably Richard) EASTES was married to Matilda Jane HENRY (c1870) and
they had a daughter, Amree Maree EASTES (1895 Canada). Amree was also known
as Agnes Maud. Matilda and Amree emigrated to SA and Amree attended boarding
school in SA. I am not sure whether Dick accompanied them. Family folklore
tells us that Amree's forebears were aristocratic Frenchmen - not sure
whether from Matilda's side or from Dick's side or whether there is any
truth in this at all.

Have you ever come across a Richard EASTES, or any of the other people
mentioned above? Dick and Matilda are my great great grandparents, so I
would be more than delighted to discover anything about them.
