Hi Eleanor (again)
the Bennetts all lived in Durban. One of John Hammond Bennetts sons, Edgar,
did move to Kimberley and towards the end of his life he returned to Durban
where he died. John Hammond Bennett and Lydia Bennett (nee Wakefield) came
from Croydon aboard the Lismore Castle. The children were John Stanley and
Herbert (who both died during the boer War) and Edgar and my grandmother
Kathleen Mabel. What we cant sort out is who were Joseph and Sydney Bennett
who travelled with them on the Lismore Castle but who werent their children
or even brothers.
Kind regards
Sybil
