Hi Tessa and Karen,
This is really going to throw the cat among the Cawoods, but I have, from a
usually reliable source:
1. David CAWOOD, b. 9 Aug 1775, Keightly, Yorkshire, England.
He married Mary SMITH , married 9 Apr 1798, in Bingley, Yorkshire, England.
She was born 3 Mar 1776, Bingley, Yorkshire, England, d. 21 Jan 1822,
Trappe's Valley, Albany, CP., buried: 23 Jun 1822, Shaw Park Methodist
Church.
David died 2 Mar 1832, Kaffir Drift, Lower Albany, buried: 4 Mar 1832, Shaw
Park Methodist Church.

Will double-check with him where he got this info - it is possible that the
Apr turned into an Aug, I guess,
Sharon

PS. From a transcript of The History of the South African College (1918)
which I sent to the List ages ago:
Area demarcation sin 1829:
10. Somerset included Somerset East, Bedford, Cradock, Steynsburg,
Tarkastad, and parts of Middelburg, Jansenville and Queenstown.
(Though boundaries did change, the above covers a pretty broad area...hope
this adds some reassurance)
