All

My name is Philip Watt from Gosford NSW Australia. I have been unable to
detail some details of my maternal grandfather's parents, who migrated to
South Africa in about 1890 from UK.

My maternal grandfather's name was William Taylor Green, born in the UK in
about 1869, and died, supposedly from a horse accident in 1899 in Uitenhage
SA, which was during the Boer War. My maternal grandmother's name was
Kathleen Mayor (also spelt Catherine Major on Nendick Thomas' birth
certificate) born 1 Jan 1872 in Cowes Isle of Wight. They were apparently
married in Somerset East in 1890, having three children, William Taylor (dob
20/5/1894 Capetown), Nendick Thomas (dob 13/8/1897 Uitenhage) and Nesta (dob
21/4/1899 Somerset East).

Kathleen remarried James Henry Donsworth Uitenhage on 18 September 1905, and
the family migrated to Australia in about 1907 or 1908.

I have been unable to trace 1) UK birth certificates of either William
Taylor Green or Kathleen Mayor, 2) SA marriage certificate of William and
Kathleen, 3) death certificate of William Taylor Green, 4) the shipping
records of their travel from UK to SA, and 5) the shipping records of
Kathleen and James from SA to Australia.

I would be pleased if anyone has access to information on this people.

Philip Watt
