I only have details for one of their children, who married my
great-great-great aunt, Agnes Amelia STONE:

David HUME, b. 1797 in Berwick, Scotland, d. 1864.02.01 in Grahamstown,
immigrated 1817 in Moodie's party. He married Margaret PIRIE, b. CIR
1807 in England, d. 1897.08.20 in Grahamstown.
iDavid Robert HUME b. CIR 1841.

Second Generation

David Robert HUME, b. CIR 1841 in Grahamstown, d. 1888.03.05 in Beaufort
(1) He married Mary Ann Abigail THOMAS, b. CIR 1841 in Albany, d.
1865.11.17 in "Glen Cliff", Bedford.
iAlice Margaret HUME, b. 1858.
iiAmy Agnes HUME, b. 1859. Married 1891.08.22 in Barkly
West, Cape, Brooke Muriel LACEY.

(2) Married AFT 1865, Agnes Amelia STONE, b. ABT 1850, (daughter of
James John Henry STONE and Sarah FULLER) d. 1919 in Transvaal.
iiiArthur William HUME, d. 1967.08.04 in Rhodesia.
ivHenry Herbert HUME, also known as Harry Herbert, d.
1928.09.23 in Johannesburg.
vCyril James HUME, b. CIR 1877.01 in Grahamstown, Cape
Colony, d. 1936.09.12 in Benoni, Transvaal, occupation Amalgamator.
Died unmarried and without children. Worked for the New Modderfontein
Gold Mine.
viPercy Cecil HUME, b. 1879.07.19, d. 1905.04.01.
viiDavid Herbert HUME, also known as David Hubert, b. CIR
1883.01 in Graham's Town, Cape Colony, d. 1967.05.12 in Hillbrow,
Johannesburg, occupation Dairyman. He died unmarried and without
children. He owned a dairy. His death notice says that his mother's name
was May.
viiiOlive Grace HUME, b. 1884.09.13, d. AFT 1972.
ixCecile Geraldine HUME, b. CIR 1887.08 in Grahamstown,
Cape Colony, d. 1966.04.28 in Rosettenville, Johannesburg, occupation
Teacher. Died unmarried, no children.

Peter Philip in "British Residents at the Cape1795-1819" says that there
are biographies for David HUME in the Dictionary of South African
Biography, the Standard Encyclopaedia of Southern Africa, and elsewhere.
It seems he was a pioneer trader, explorer and big-game hunter, and was
probably the first white man to meet Mzilikazi (in 1829) and the first
to visit what is now Botswana (1833).

As for the FEATHERSTONEs, I have a Margaret Ann HUME
(1839.04.04-1926.06.26) - could she have been a daughter of David HUME
and Margaret PIRIE? She married John Henry FEATHERSTONE
(1830.11.19-1891.06.02) on 1857.01.12 (he was the uncle of Samuel
CRONWRIGHT, Olive SCHREINER's husband). They had a son, David Robert
Hume FEATHERSTONE (b 1860.10.15), who married Agnes Amelia STONE's
sister, Alice Olivia STONE (b 1865.05.08), on 1883.09.03, providing
another FEATHERSTONE connection.

I hope that this is of some interest to you. If you need the
references, I will have to create a file from my data base and email it
to you.
