Hi

I am Philip Raath and I am researching the following surnames. RAATH,
RAHT, SMITH, ROUX, VAN DER VYVER, HALVORSEN, JACOBS, GILMORE. I have just
started this so I don't have too much information as yet. HALVORSEN could
be from Norwegian descent and if anybody can help clarify that I would be
grateful. Philipp Arnold Cristian RAHT came from Blankenburg in East
Germany to South Africa in 1762/3 and could be the root of the RAATH
surname in South Africa.
