I would suggest that you use the IGI on CD-ROM and loaded down all the
Charles Clarke and Sarah xxxx marriages for the relevant period.
Similarly for the baptisms of the children. I don't know what the
logistics are for you in SA for this sort of thing. You could get a
paid researcher in the UK to do it for you, if necessary. See my other
posting today on Family Tree Magazine. That posting also covers
getting the Gibson Guide on UK county marriage indexes. These are
normally much more comprehensive (and more accurate) than the IGI for
marriages.
Do you have any clues about which parts of UK that the members of
Wait's Party came from? If you could find where others in the party
came from (say, from death notices - I assume that Charles and Sarah
Clarke's and there UK born children's death notices were no help) it
would give some sort of guide.
