Hi all,
I received a message over the weekend raising the issue of non
response to some questions sent to the list.
A valid point was made that if someone sends a message to the list
and receives no reply whatsoever, it may cause that person to
unsubscribe from the list and we may lose someone who may, in the
long-term, make a valuable contribution.
It is suggested that a reply be made to each and every message sent
to the list, even if the response is negative.
I explained that other lists operate on the basis that if at first
you don't succeed, repost the message, perhaps at monthly intervals,
because during that time, new subscribers would have joined the list
and they may have the answers.
The point about losing valuable subscribers in the interim was again
cited - and this of course does make sense.
I would welcome ideas and suggestions from you on how you feel about
this idea and how best to deal with questions for which noone has the
answers.
All input greatly appreciated.
Regards
