This message is aimed mainly at other Family Tree Maker users.

I am currently using an old version of FTM (Version 2.0)

When requiring an outline descendants tree, one specifies the person, number of generations and which fields & items to be included. When you want spouses mother and spouses father to be included, the program prints the name of the spouse plus other fields/items requested, then the field name [Father: or Mother:] followed by the name of the father or mother. For example:

Peter George Black born: 25 January, 1890 in Paarl died: 15 November, 1956 in Cape Town.
+ Anne Louise Smith born: 5 November, 1895 in Stellenbosch died: 12 April, 1964 in Cape Town. Father: John Robert Smith. Mother: Mary Jane Brown.

The problem is that when that spouses father and/or mother are not in the database, the field names, followed by a space or two (empty field), are still printed and this looks untidy. [Father: Mother: ]

Is there any way to correct this, or must I upgrade to a later version where, hopefully, this has been rectified?

Can someone please help.
