Good morning from a frost-struck Netherlands... ;{

I have to say that I came to FTM at version 3, and am now using
version 4, and haven't seen this problem, so I assume that they've
fixed it. I'm not someone who believes in always having the newest
version of everything, but I really think you might benefit from at
least taking a look at version 4 - the improvements over version 3
are impressive! For example, there's a much better genealogy
reporting way than the outline descendant tree, you can force merges
of individuals you know to be the same even if the computer doesn't
recognise them, you can now build a sources database so that you
don't have to type in the full ref each time - just specifics such as
page numbers, and the new "print book" facility prints a tree with
"goto page ??" boxes rather than just printing across pages and
leaving the user to stick them together.
You can get the demo from the FTM home page.

ps I don't work for them - just love the programme!
