Greetings all. my first request to this group.
I am trying to trace any family connections of brothers John and David
Nicolson.
JOHN NICOLSON b 01/04/1854 Caithness Scotland
Married INA REID
Emigrated to South Africa, address was "Castletown Villa" 281 Retief
Street,
Pietermaritzburg, Natal
It is said that he died 30/03/1914 in Pietermaritzburg
It is understood that daughters were school teachers

A daughter RENA was living at 281 Retief Street in 1965
but there is a letter written to New Zealand in 1980 from Room 14
"Douolene" 28 Longmarket Street, P........burg

Rena had a cousin PHYLLIS married to REX EAGAR.

DAVID NICOLSON b 1/8/1858, Caithness, Scotland
Married HELEN REID
According to correspondence they lived near Johannesburg
Some names listed on a photograph ( 1910-1920??)
ANNIE NICOLSON, LIZZIE (FINLAYSON) ROGERS, LIZZIE NICOLSON,
JAMIE FINLAYSON, NORE ROGERS, JANET FINLAYSON,
RENA FINLAYSON,

Photo April 1899 MARGARENA PENFOLD NICOLSON aged 14 weeks.

Also reference to a MAGNUS NICOLSON
It would be great to come across some leads.
