Hi All,

Does anyone have any further information on this matter?

I have responded that the twins may have died if their mother died
from complications following their birth.

If they were adopted how would one go about ascertaining that - I
have no experience in adoptions here in SA?

Perhaps some kind person could lookup to see if their is a Death
Notice for this poor woman and if the names of the twins appear on
it?

Finally could anyone supply the address of the Cemetery or Parks
Department or Municipality in Cathcart to write to - It would be a
shame to discover that the twins had died but rather that than to
spend time on trying to find information on them if the did die.

Any assistance appreciated.

Subject: Ritchie Twins

Hi
My grandmother was Ann Gibb Robertson born in Bo'ness Scotland on June
17, 1873. She married Walter Legget Ritchie at Bo'ness on April 7, 1893.
They emigrated to Cathcart, Cape Colony about 1901. A son John was born
to them at Cathcart in 1903 and twins Esther Ann and Caroline Elzabeth
were born there on Nov. 8, 1905 . Their mother died in Feb.7,1906 from
complications arising from the births. My grandfather Walter Legget
returned to Scotland with his three sons later in 1906, leaving behind
the twin daughters. They may have been adopted. Nothing futher has been
heard of the twins and I have been searching for them for the last
several years with no results.
Do you have any infomation that might connect with the above?
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Walter Ritchie
