I am hoping that you can help me. Is there any way that I can find
information about my gr. uncle Benjamin LEIGHTON, who was living at 78
Market St., Boksburg at the time of WW1. I don't know when he came to SA
or how long he was there. I am assuming he was born in South Shields,
England as was his brother Sidney Stanley Leighton (my grandfather).
I have not been able to find a birth certificate for either of them. I
am hoping that if I can trace Benjamin in SA I may get a lead to other
information about the family.
Any information that you cam help me with would be greatly appreciated.
Someone suggested that I look up a death record for Benjamin, but I am
assuming one must have a date for this which I don't have.
I live in a very small isolated community in N.W. B.C. Canada and
haven't any access to research other than the net and snail mail at this
time.
Thanking you very much in advance.
