William Purdie MCFARLANE married Edith Maud Mary Ansley on 3 November 1908 at
Grahamstown. She died 14 October 1959 at Kitwe. This couple had 4 children:
Henrietta Louise MCFARLANE b 14 October 1909 [also known as Etta] ; Charles
John MCFARLANE b 12 April 1911 [ married Joyce MERCIA/MCEWAN and had a
daughter, Annette, b 22 July 1936] ;William Evelyn MCFARLANE b 6 June 1915
[also known as Evie] ; Edith Mary MCFARLANE dob unknown, may have been known
as Molly, married Al JAMES. Al James worked at the Roan Antelope Copper Mine;
possibly later at Mufulira Copper Mine. In the 1960s era Molly & Al James may
have been living in Fort Victoria [Masvingo Town] Zimbabwe.
There is some indication that Charles John & Joyce McFarlane may have moved to
Capetown prior to their deaths.
I have extensive background information on this McFarlane family in Scotland,
USA & Australia. Would like very much to share and exchange with interested
