Hi Mike,

On your suggestion I contacted the Chamber of Mines ()
regarding red tickets and was told they do not deal with records of service
for persons who worked on the mines, although they stated that "Red Tickets
are issued by the Miners", possibly meaning the mine companies. They did
suggest that I contact TEBA (The Employment Bureau of South Africa), ph 27 11
353 6000, FAX 27 11 493 0559. I FAXed them and received an e-mail reply from
. This person was very helpful, but when I requested
further information he/she did not reply. The Chamber of Mines also suggested
I could contact the ? Medical Bureau, ph 27 11 403 6322.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,
