Hi Pat,
Possible help re below please.
Firstly, do you know anything about the origins of the KNAPP surname? One
of my Somerset, England ancestors, Abraham Hobbs married around 1730 an Ann
Knapp. There is no other Knapp mentioned in the parish so I am stuck on her
ancestors. I have seen the surname mentioned in London, but I am just
wondering if there is a particular area in England where that surname
originated?
Secondly, I am doing a one-name study of my maiden surname of GULLICK
worldwide, and there happened to be a small family from Somerset who settled
in Market Weighton, Yorkshire. If you have any monumental inscriptions for
them I should be very pleased to know of them. They were James and Eliza
Gullick, he was a grocer and they died 17 July 1889 and 15 June 1899. They
had Austin William, Elizabeth Mary and James Alfred. Austin died 1928
probably in Market Weighton, Elizabeth died 1936 Bridlington and James 1937
place unknown.
