Are there any KENTs in Durban? I'm looking for descendants of Francis Couch
KENT. Also descendants of Horace (full names Richard Horatio Couch) KENT,
barrister, who is buried at Henley-on-Klip, a brother of Francis Couch. Also
their nephews Arthur Edwin KENT who married in Cape Town in c1896 and
Francis J KENT, who died in Durban in 1935. Arthur & Francis J were
brothers.

1. Francis Couch KENT (b.1839, d. 14 Jul 1911 in Durban) married Emily ??
(b. c1929, d. 30 Mar 1927 in Durban [yes, aged 98]). I know of no issue as
yet.

2. Richard Horatio Couch KENT known as Horace (b. 17 Jul 1855, d. 25 Jun
1945, buried at Henley-on-Klip) married Elizabeth Hearn (perhaps ORI)(b. 3
Jun 1855, d. 23 Jul 1935, buried at Henley-on-Klip). Known children Percy H
B (b. 1876), Lionel B (b. 1878), Douglas B (b. 1880), Hugh B (b. 1882),
Norman (b. 1883), Doris (b. 12 Dec 1884, d. 20 Aug 1907 buried at
Henley-on-Klip), another daughter b. 1885.

3. Francis J KENT (b. 1870, d. 10 Apr 1935 in Durban) married Caroline
BIDERSON (b. 1871, d. 18 Feb 1906 in Durban, d/o Charles Linton BIDERSON (b.
1826, d. 7 Dec 1916 in Durban)). I know of 1 son Arthur Sidney Herbert KENT
(b. 1898, d. 25 Jan 1900 in Durban).

4. Arthur Edwin KENT (b. 1872, d. 25 Apr 1950 in Cape Town) married
Charlotte Lydia DARKOW (b. 1874, d. 29 Jun 1951 in Cape Town).

It's possible Francis' & Arthur's siblings were also in SA. Brothers Raymond
H KENT (b. 1875) and Sidney H C KENT (b. 1879).

Francis Couch and Horace had a brother Joseph Couch (father of Arthur &
Francis J) and a sister Mahala Elizabeth (known as Elizabeth) who was
married to a NASH and had known children Mary NASH (b. 1878) and possibly
Eleanor NASH (b. 1880)
