Soldiers during the 1860's and 1870's. My G.Grandfather and his family
were there, moving between Mauritius and Fort Beaufort, Cape of Good Hope
between that time. Their names were Robert Pelling, (Sergeant, at least,
unless demoted, 32nd Light Infantry) his wife Margaret (nee Gibson) and
children (some of which were born in Mauritius and Cape of Good Hope) Lucy,
Charlotte, Flourance, Robert, Mary, Laura and Ethel. Flourance (or
Florence) died at Fort Beaufort, Cape Colony aged 5 months.
