Hello Listers,
Does anyone know where I can find more information on the Cape Town Guard?
My great grandfather belonged to a unit that was formed by Richard
Stuttaford. Some information on this unit can be found in "The Story of
Stuttafords", but I have not found any original documentation on the unit or
Town Guard. Any listers out there who can give me pointers in the right
direction? (I've tried the SA Library and the Cape Archives).
An interesting co-incidence is that the above unit practised their shooting
in the basement of the Stuttafords building in St George's Street - the very
building in which my office is based.
Regards,
