Hello, Listers

I have been told that one of the branches on my EVANS tree, Frank Simpson
EVANS, died at "Umtamcana, River Drift, Alfred, Natal". Can anyone tell me
where I can verify this death and / or point me in the direction to find
out something about this place; the Internet and my atlas don't show this
place name.
