Thanks for your note. This sounds incredible! There is a family legend that
a Lord Burton from Burton-on-Trent was connected to the family somehow; I'm
DYING to know if this is the case... May I ask for your "England"
background on this Saunders? The other story with which I have grown up is
that "Grandpa Saunders" [Gervase Wood Saunders] had a strong link with
Scotland. This story is quoted as the reason for pronouncing the Saunders
as "Sarnders" instead of "Sawnders". Which do you think is correct??
Sorry that is a bit rambling, but I am sooo excited...
