Hi Dalene,

1) Fanny Jane Brummer (nee Church) was a sister to Ellen Anna and daughter
to the main East Cape progenitor John Charles Church. She was probably about
6th oldest of 13 children.

2) The information in 'SA Genealogies' on Church is not that accurate and I
am unsure how one goes about giving the correct information for it to be
updated. There were essentailly two main progenitors of the Church name in
South Africa: James Luke, the 1820 settler who became Cape Town based and
John Charles whose family were farmers on the Eastern frontier. I am pretty
sure that William Henry Church is actually one of John Charles's 13 children
and not a separate progenitor as shown in 'SA Genealogies'. Likewise
Frederick Christopher and Mathew James Church were sons of James Luke and
not seperate progenitors.

3) The only FW Church I know of is Frederick William Church born 1860 in
Swellendam. But I am confused that he would be in Lady Grey, since
Frederick William is from the James Luke branch of Churches(West Cape) and
not John Charles(East Cape). Do you have idea of when this FW Church lived?
There were some photographer/watchmaker types in the James Luke branch and
they all lived in the West Cape, but the East Cape Churches were largely
farmers. I would be very interested in any other information you find
regarding FW Church.

Regards,Peter
