GREENE, Frederick Alwyn, son of Frederick Vincent Green and
Mary Francis Crighton, born about 1888, possibly in Ladysmith,
Natal, South Africa. Served in WWI in England, jailed in South
West Africa (Namibia) in 1932 for entering Kaokoveld without a
permit, and also said to have killed someone in a fight over a
girl in Texas, USA. Said to have died in London shortly after
WWII - run over by bus. Looking for descendants, date and place
of birth & death, & biographical info.

MORRIS 1817-1904

MORRIS, James. Born 8 Aug 1817, Ashby-de-la-Zouch,
Leicestershire, England; d. 16 Mar 1904, Cape Town, South
Africa. Was a trader in Namaland, Namibia. A sister or daughter
may have married Stewardson. Was there any connection with
Abraham Morris, leader of the Bondelswarts rebellion? Looking
for any information about relations, especially Stewardson
connection.

STEWARDSON 1800-1880

STEWARDSON, first name unknown. Died early 1870s. Hunter,
trader in Namibia 1850s & 1860s. Trained as tailor, said to
have been a dissenting parson, came to Namaland in the second
half of the 1840s, married sister of trader Morris. S., was
intermittently in the employ of Galton and Andersson to break
in riding oxen. but later became an antagonist of Andersson by
consistently supporting the Afrikaners, supplying them with
guns and ammunition. He married a daughter of James and
Elizabeth Morris, and had three sons, James, Charles and
William, and three daughters: Elizabeth, m. Gustav Lindholm;
Fanny, m. Axel Wilhelm Eriksson; and Catherine Agnes Anne, m.
(1) Frederick Thomas Green, (2) George Robb, and died in South
Africa. Seeking name, date and place of birth, wife's name,
date & place of marriage, and any information about
descendants.
