Hello Listers - Outside Africa and in South Africa

Some time ago someone from far away queried the spelling of Komga.
in a genealogical enquiry , I thought you may be interested in its history.

The original name was QUMRA meaning Red Clay. This is a XHOSA name.
When setters moved to Qumra it was renamed Komgha. The "h" was dropped
several years ago.

On October 28, 2000 Komga (a very, very small town) has a "Festival of
Flowers". All the churches, and there are many different denominations,
will be decorating their Churches with flowers, from homes grown in Komga and
ALL homes have pretty gardens.

I've been told that if you blink when you ENTER Komga you will have
passed through it.

With compliments
Beulah
