Hello ...

The Max Jackson referred to by Rupert is indeed one of mine -
Maximillian James Jackson, born 03 Jul 1839 Cape Town, married
04 Apr 1878 Richmond, died 26 Jan 1923 (bur. Korteshoven - Elgin
dist.); wife Bertha Brink, died Umzimkulu - Natal; 7 children.

Maximillian was one of eight children born to John Duke Jackson
who married Mary Ann Frost, both from England, arrived SA circa
1830. Many of the descendants of these Jacksons carry the
names of Frost and Duke - in fact, I think it is true to say that
many regard themselves as the Duke Jacksons. Their ancestors
in the distaff are the Fitzwalters as per Burkes.
