Dear Anne Lehmkuhl
As a SMITH, I too am also interested in any possible connections between the
various SMITH lines. So if you have received any replies on this topic
off-list, or have any additional information, please let me know.
I do not know of any connection between the SMITH lines that you mentioned
in your original message, but I do have some additional details on the
Charles Beaumont SMITH line (courtesy of research done by David John
GREATHEAD). So I have re-written your paragraph to include your information
and this new information:
"Charles Beaumont SMITH born 16 Jun 1875 at the Cape, occupation priest,
died 1907 in Bishop Auckland, England. Married 1905 in Sunderland to E.
Mildred HARRISON born in Sunderland. Their first (and only?) child was
Charlotte born in 1906. Charles Beaumont SMITH was the son of Charles Thomas
SMITH and Julia Emily GREATHEAD, and was one of seven children. Charles
Thomas SMITH (son of Judge SMITH of Cape Town) born 1824, occupation judge,
Supreme Court, died 10 Feb 1901 in Cape Town. Married 27 Jun 1872 in
Grahamstown to Julia Emily GREATHEAD (daughter of James Henry GREATHEAD)
born 9 Mar 1852 in Burghersdorp, Orange River Colony, died 17 Oct 1913 in
Cape Town."
