Hello again Margaret
I don't know if anyone replied to this message or not but I thought I would just
in case. As far as I know 'someone', you or a researcher has to physically go
into the archives in person and request the record concerned which they will then
be given to look at and transcribe. I don't think you are allowed to photocopy
the record itself but they do allow digital cameras to photograph the death
notice.
The other way would be to try and work out which film, available through the
Mormon's you need to order to get the record you want as the Mormon Church has
filmed most of the death notices up to a certain date. This could be done through
your local LDS (Mormon) Family History Centre. You could also then make a copy of
the death notice from the microfilm providing the LDS FHC has a microfilm copier.
The cost here in Australia to order in any film is A$6, in Scotland it probably
equates to 2 or 3 pounds to view the film for a 4 week period to find the
information you want.
Hope this helps. Best regards.
