There is a page on this family in the book South African Genealogies 2, p.
104. It includes Siebert Dormehl and three subsequent generations up to those
born around 1850.

I could scan or copy & mail this page to you. Here is a translation of the
introduction:

Siebert Dormehl arrive before 1792 from Marburg [Germany]died Cape Town
25.6.1826 [European format for dates!] aged 71 years 10 months.
Married Cape town 29.1.1792 Johanna Israel widow of J.G. Carstel [Johan
Gottlieb Karstedt].
Remarried Cape Town 5.10.1806 Johanna Margaretha Muller.
Reremarried Cape Town 14.12.1812 Helena Geertruyda Theron widow of Fredrick
Hendrik Israel.

There are 11 children, born between 1792 and 1807.

The tenth child (not clear which of the first two wives is the Mother) is

Siebert Frederick married Gustavina Louisa Greffrath remarried Anne Margaret
Morrison.

Nine children are listed. The eighth is

Siebert Frederick born 26.2.1846 married 30.1.1871 Gesina Maria Fink.

Dare I say: "Bingo!" ?

The Israel family is on p. 560 Volume 3 of the same series. A search on
"Dormehl" at the SA Archives gives over 550 hits. You could be busy!

Second wife date 5/10/1806. 3rd wife 14/12/1812 (then again these could be
his children)I said it was badly drawn didn't I?

Murdock Morrisomn married Dorothea Adriana HANSEN looks like they had 4
children - 2 names George and Anna (no dates)

Siebert may have married twice
wife 1 Vink? or possibly Vin K son Peter Dormehl b 1873
wife 2 Anna Margaret SCHNEIDER, possibly 8 children (most names unreadable)
but possibly Siebert, Douglas, Annie, Janet, Florence.

Peter Dormehl married Winifred Creighton 5 children, Jim, Barbara, Peggy,
Penny, Mandell.

Peter died in Sept 1958, whereabouts unknown Winifred died in George on 20
August 1967.

If anybody out there can help me - and as you can see I badly need it! I
will be forever grateful.
Any information relating to this family or any information on where to start
tracing this family would be very welcome indeed.
Apologises for posting such an obsucre message - its all the information
that is readable from the chart. There are plenty of other names and lines
on my chart - I just can't dephicer them!
