Keith, I'm sure it's a prerequisite for genealogists to split hairs! If I
think how I interrogate clues over & over... The reason I posted this info
(maybe I should have made myself more clear) is that deaths in the 1920s
&/or later medical conditions seem to take on a new dimension when one
factors in the possible after-effects of the Spanish Flu epidemic.

Thanks for the correction on Parkinsonism.

Regards
Maureen

Splitting hairs, but the result of the 1918 flu was Parkinsonism - symptoms
similar to Parkinson's, but not Parkinson's itself.

To the victim, I am sure this distinction did not matter.

In the same way, I imagine that encephalitis, whether viral or bacterial,
may
result in symptoms similar to any number of nervous system disorders.

Hi Listers

I've come across an interesting snippet that follows on the debate we had
some time back on the possible link between getting Parkinsons & having
survived the Spanish flu.
