Rondebosch used to be a municipality. Anybody in the area who wishes to
get information on the history of the area should drop in at the
Rondebosch Police Station. In the foyer is a well documented pictorial
history of the area. Captain Anthony Penso is the person responsible for
the display together with a few members of the Rondebosch Historical
Society. He can be contacted on 021-685-7345/2705 (office hours) but has
no email.

Rondebosch is a suburb of Cape Town, south and slightly east of Table
Bay, east of Table Mountain. (It used to be the farm of my Louw
ancestors.)

Elgin is a village at the top of Sir Lowry's Pass, east of Somerset
West. It is very near to Grabouw.

Hi Jo and Listers
Suddenly I find myself in need of Jo's chart outlining degrees of
relationship, if she could send the pdf to me I would greatly appreciate
it.

Update on Free Trial. For the moment, I have decided not to take
Ancestry.com up on its offer. Thanks to everyone who sent me input. It
was a great help.

Location? I have checked online maps and can not find either Elgin or
Rondebosch. Where are they? Have they been absorbed by larger cities?
Thanks in advance. Kathy Swift Thompson
