I was wondering if you could help me with some information. I have found a
marriage entry for St Mary's Cathedral Cape Town - 1st August 1862 - for
my gt. grandparents. I was hoping that this entry would give me a clue to
my gt. grandmothers parents names but unfortunately it doesn't. Would a
"full" marriage certificate do this? Also on the entry is "Judges order".
My gt. grandmother would have been a minor at 20 and would have required
approval - I gather a Judge's order would have covered this. What I would
like to know is - what details would a Judge's order have? Would it give
me the names of my gt. grandmother's parents and if so how I would go about
getting a copy of a Judges Order.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
