There is a document in the SA Archives to do with a civil case involving your
JO Renney, 1948.
CIVIL RECORDS. TRIALS AND APPLICATIONS. GUSTAV ADOLPH SWANEPOEL VERSUS JOSEPH
OSWALD RENNEY AND JWA FERREIRA.
Also, you should search this list. There was a very active researcher of
Renney / Rennie, and many messages during about the last two years.
Please contact me if you need further help.
Best wishes
Keith

I am writing to find out if anybody out there knows anything about my
Grandfather Joseph Oswald RENNEY. He lived in Hartlepool which was a part of
the County of Durham at the time, with my Grandmother Elizabeth, they had
three children Jean, Marlene (my mother) and Oswald. He left Hartlepool alone
just after the Second World War, and went to South Africa.
He was born in the Stranton area of Hartlepool on 5th August 1912 and married
my Grandmother in 1935 in Hartlepool. My Grandmother later filed for divorce
and remarried not hearing from him from the day he left.
I am trying to find out what happened to him after he left Hartlepool and
settled in South Africa for my Mother who is now in her early 60's, and
whether he has a family there in South Africa.
So if anybody out there has any suggestions how I could track him down, I
would be most grateful.
Thanks
