I would just like to second what Mary has said. Without sites such as these
it would be virtually impossible for me to learn about my roots from such a
distance.
I too grew up in Africa but moved away with my husband and our family
before I realised how important it is to preserve my family's history.
I also have very few family members alive who could assist in this endeavour
and I am so grateful to the people who regularly and willingly give their
time and expertise to fellow listers such as me. I have learned so much in
the past six months - not just about genealogy, but about the history of
southern Africa and the world.
Thank-you to all. Your knowledge and kindness continue to blow me away.

Kind regards
Moireen Cary ( Alberta, Canada)
