Hello everyone

I'm not sure if this will help but I had some contact, through the list,
with Kevin Asplin in England in 2001 - and in my eyes, he is an
expert on Kew records, particularly those associated with the
various regiments of British soldiers. He has published a 2 volume
work on the British Military but I'm not sure what coverage of
regiments in SA. He certainly knows a lot about the Imperial
Yeomanry and helped me to obtain records of two men who lost
their lives at the foot of the Lootsberg north of Graaff-Reinet, during
the Boer War. If I remember correctly, he has indexed many of the
records - it will certainly be worth contacting him off list. His e-mail
