Hi everyone

Just thought I should also post the names of the children of Benjamin King
in case they ring a bell with anyone.

Benjamin was born in 1828 in Grahamstown and married Maria Ann Hammond in
April 1851. I could only find a Benjamin married to a Maria Ann Faircloth in
April 1851 when I visited the Cory Library in Grahamstown. Family story has
it that her mother died when she was very young and she was brought up by a
relative. Her father died after falling from his horse and was an Irishman.
She married at the age of 16. Perhaps she was raised by the Faircloths??
Anyone know anything about the FAIRCLOTH family???

Anyway here are the children of Benjamin King and Maria Ann Hammond or
Faircloth:

1. John Henry King born 2 October 1854 died 27 September 1929 m Eliza Louisa
Hannah Birkenmeyer had 12 children.
2. David Benjamin King born 14 February 1857 died 18 February 1935 m Johanna
Elizabeth O'Reilly and had 9 children.
3. William Charles King born 18 July 1859 died 1935 m Emily Eliza O'Reilly
(sister of above) and had 8 children.
4. Walter Hyde King born 25 September 1861 died 11 January 1894.
5. Joseph George King born 12 July 1863 died 24 August 1905 m Alice Hammond
(his cousin) and had 3 children??.
6. Andrew Clark King born 30 January 1866 died 30 October 1937 m Martha
Büchler 25 October 1892 and had 11 children. (My husband's grandfather).
7. Benjamin Desfontein King born 26 February 1868 died 1929 m ?? had two
daughters ??
8. Sarah Elizabeth King born 11 March 1870 died 7 January 1927 m Alexander
James Cairns in 1889 and had 7 children.
9. Edward James King born 15 August 1872 died 24 October 1919 m Frances
Maritz in 1898 and had 7 children.
10. Alfred King born 7 August 1877 died 18 December 1894.
11. Daniel Chilcote King born 30 January 1880 m Emily Kabel and had 7
children.
