The other method is to go to start, all programs, accessories, system tools
and look for character map.
If you use it often, create a shortcut to the desktop.
Hope this helps,
Ron

Well I use them on Outlook all the time with Swedish names, but I copied
them out onto a small card stuck onto the computer base. Very handy. With
the numeric lock on all the 'wingdings' start with Alt+0 and a 3 figure
number. eg.ä à Å Alt+0228 etc.

Is there a way to access this in Outlook Express? I looked but could not
find it in the drop downs but might have missed the right place!

Hi,
There is no need to go to all that trouble in Word, when there is a full
programme set up already...Going to Word document, type your letters,
louren, then go to "insert" option, select option "symbols", you can pick up
the accented c for Lourenco Marques with the formatting table "Courier
New"... I'm sure if you scroll through some of the other options under
symbols, you can find every accent-cedilla you ever needed...and then you
can finish your word Lourenço Marques. Voila!
