Subject: [ZA] John Hayter questions

Many thanks for all the responses I received. Some of the information
received differs from mine, gleaned from various sources, and will
require re-evaluation. I will reply privately to those who require a
response from me.
It seems that I did have one fact wrong. It was not John Hayter (1820
immigrant) who distinguished himself in the 7th, 8th and 9th Frontier wars
, but it was his son, John Samuel, that was the hero.
I still do not have a death date for John Hayter. The sources DeV/Pama &
Hoge give his + as 1853, but this cannot be correct because his 2nd wife,
Aletta Johanna Welgemoed, XX William Linsten on 3 July 1848 , presumably
after the death of her first husband, John Hayter. This determines John
Hayter's + at somewhere before 3-7-1848? . Aletta Johanna Welgemoed, died
on 22 Jan 1853 ( D/N MOOC : 1868/1853). Perhaps this is where the
confusion comes from.
Regards to all
Christo
