Well, well, a blast from the past! If Peers Cave is the one I think it
is, it is between Fish Hoek and Kalk Bay, and is one of several in that
range of hills. I went through one of those caves with a friend and
fellow-student in my UCT days, and nearly got stuck in a narrow passage
which turned at right angles to s straight-down direction halfway
through, which my friend called "Edward's Limit". The cave was partly
Table Mountain sandstone and partly huge granite boulders, and very
abrasive on the inside! But I never did hear of the person after whom
the cave was named.
