Hi Bazett
I think these conclusions match those I discussed in my earlier discursion
pretty closely. Thanks, Robin, for sending me your map. If anyone else has
other scanned old maps, I'd be most grateful to receive copies.
Regards
Maueen

Hello Robin, Maureen and Sarah,
Robin, I would appreciate it if you could send me a copy of your map. I have
two maps referring to Meerhofs Kasteel . Both of these maps I found in Dr.
Anna Böeseken's "Geskiedenis Atlas vir Suid-Afrika". The maps are slightly
less than a MB in size and I will send them if required..
On map 54, Meerhoffs Kasteel is shown to be north of the Olifantsriver, more
or less very near to the point where the Holriver flows into the
Olifantsriver. It is nearly due west of Vanrynsdorp. This position of
Meerhoffs Kasteel is included in the index to the atlas and according to my
way of thinking therefore the true position of the Meerhoffs Kasteel.
On map 55 of the same atlas Meerhoffs Kasteel is shown very near to
Citrusdal. I think this name has been changed to Paleisheuwel (Palice Hill).
The index of the atlas does not include this place.
Greys pass seems to connect Paleisheuwel to the N7 highway near Citrusdal.
I hope we have solved the riddle of Meerhoffs Kasteel ;-).
Regards
Bazett Meyer
